Having spent the last several years immersed in Buffy fandom this isn't terribly traumitizing. Although pre-Buffy fandom it would be. Now I get to the end of a movie and say things like "But, a main and deeply beloved character didn't die at the end! Shamefull! Totally no fun! Why make loveably characters if you can't kill them?"
