So I went for jury duty for the first time today. I'm going to be sitting for a longish trial. I can't say anympre right now about it, except that it's a civil trial. what's annoying is that the lawyers think the trial will last 5 days, but the judge's schedule is really screwy. We will have the trial tomorrow and Thursday, then we are off on Friday thanks to the judge. We will come back Monday, tuesday and Wednesday of next week. If we aren't finished by then, we will not be coming back untill the following Monday. However, if the trial has gone to the jury by next wednesday, we will be deliberating on thursday and friday of next week.
Oy.
On the plus side, I will be making some money for the first time in a looooong time, since they pay us $50 a day starting on the fourth day. The court officer says he's going to see if we can get Friday counted as a jury day, thereby increasing the amount we will get paid. :)
Wonder what it will be like.
