Do you remember Richard Scarry? C'mon now, I know you do. Well, this site shows a side by comparison of the 1963 and 1991 versions of his The Best Word Book Ever. We must of course make it PC (Dad must be in the kitchen with Mom, the fur of a driver being cautioned for speeding cannot be black, it's "letter carrier" not "mailman"). And of course kids are dumber today.

And I say, what's wrong with a brave hero rescuing a beautiful screaming lady and a jumping gentleman?

I still have some Richard Scarry books. I used to love looking for Loly (did I spell that right?) worm and Bugdozer.

This is a great comparison. I need to send this to my dad. ^_- And maybe some of my old teachers.

Ahh, Loly worm (I don't remember how to spell it either). I remember doing all of that. I loved these books when I was little. I wonder which versions I had, and when the changes came in?
