There has been a request that I post something here...preferably something interesting.
Hmmmm...
I started reading a book for my January YARG on readerville (join if you're a reader, not necesarily the YARG, but the site in general...it's been a major part of my life for the last couple years). Anyway, in the first couple of pages was a line I enjoyed. The girl was talking about her stepmother, and says "...who sucked my father's soul out through his you know what..." (I mentioned this is for the YA group, right?)
So far, I think the plot will be interesting, but the prose is going to kill me. It's very stream of consciousness, and sometimes tries too hard. A comment from the girl on her younger cousin: "And off she drifted just like the fog on little cat feet." ACK! GACK! PTOO! (And if you don't know the reference ... Shame On You!)
And this book won a prestigious prize.
In other news....
I start PT on Monday. I hope I picked a reputable place, and that it isn't too hard to get myself there. Especially since they won't let me wear my winter boots. Say it with me now: "I will be off crutches by Arisia."
