I love a parade!

I went to the Red Sox Championship Parade today! It was a lot of fun. :) I was standing behind these poor little kids who were kinda miserable in the wet weather after ~2 hours. Their father had also dragged them to the Patriots parade earlier in the year. They just wanted to go home poor things. But I had a blast.

We watched from right outside Copley, and we actually had a good view. We were about four rows back, but we were the first row actually on the curb (the first few rows were on the street), so it was great. By the time the parade started, There was about another ten rows behind us, filling the side walk. On my side, I saw Pesky, Ortiz, Schilling, Trot Nixon, Francona, Varitek (sitting on the hood of the duck), Pedro on the back of the duck, and I got covered in confetti. I actually made eye contact with Francona, and when I waved, he started waving back.

Everyone was great. People shared umbrellas when it started raining as we waited for 2 hours. The cop on the street took pictures for people that passed him cameras. There was a game of catch with tennis balls that went across the street. It was a very friendly crowd (of course we didn't mention that Dan isn't exactly a Sox fan, and that he is exactly a Yankees fan...)

I went home after to watch the ducks go in the water on television. A great day so far, and it's still early afternoon. :)
